Nah I can’t watch shows with so many episodes anymore. Since I most of the time binge watch shows. Or it has to be a weekly episode kinda think.
-
To be honest though I think they have to put filler episodes so that the tv stations/ streaming services have something to roll out while the filming team is working on the real episodes.
Or it might be that the platform that they are airing on paid for 16 episodes, for example, and went "I want what I paid for, dammit"
Idk im just speculating.
the worst example was the whole time arc of Fairy Tail but that's anime so. (~10 episodes of filler? -- granted the whole thing is hundreds of episodes long but OOF)
If a writer is conscious of the audience and is excellent at writing the stories around fillers, I know of some cases you could just skip the filler episodes and you won't miss much other than a time skip.

ahem -- animes with 100+ episodes.

Probably this, the station or streaming platform paid for a specific amount of episodes so they have to create fillers where nothing much is going on.
I don’t think they have fillers so they got time to film the real episodes, cause these days they almost already filmed 80% of the whole show before the first episodes airs.
That’s why River where the Moon rises had to reshoot all episodes with that Ji Soo guy after episode 7.
( it was actually planned to ad the new lead Na In Woo starting from the 9th Episode, but they didn’t wanted to completely cut out On Dals appearance from 7-8 episode so they added him in as much as possible and cut out Ji Soo as much as possible. So episode 7-8 looked kinda messy)
And yeah Anime’s often have tons of filler episodes... but some anime’s even with 100+ don’t feel like having one.

That's why I liked Word Of Honor more than The Untamed even though I liked Mo Dao Zu Shi much more than Faraway Wanderers. The Untamed was so unnecessarily dragged out with many filler episodes and whole arcs, while Word Of Honor was very well paced and filler-free

I watched over 800 episodes of One Piece last year

There is a show here in Germany that is running 25 years now.
Just like Grey’s Anatomy... some things should end when it’s still good lol

Yes... there are some Dramas that would have been better if it was a movie, cause there wasn’t much to tell...
