Putting it in a general context and also with kpop, a lot of songs are about “love” but have misogynistic qualifications. For ex, in rock music it was about getting laid and banging groupies, in rap it’s “you can’t turn a ho into a housewife”, “chickenheads only meant to feed on seed”, and other misogynistic ’truthisms’.
While Kpop’s stereotypes of relationships and women interprets things from a conservative/traditional angle: “oppa is here to make your life better”, “ we’re DESTINED to be together”. It often puts the active role on the male, while the female either longs for oppa, evaluates oppas or helplessly swoons over them. I know ifans will say We DoNt LiStEn FoR tHe LyRiCs, but it’s hypocritical that these socially conscious fans can’t get themselves educated on the lyrics (just a simple Google search or turn on captions) when they demand so much from idols in understanding their culture.
