And people say SNSD were popular in Japan lol
Well they were. That's because the data you were given that you "believe" is BS. Mr Taxi was on the hot 100 for 19 weeks, Paparazzi was on the hot 100 for 7 weeks, Genie was on for 8 and Gee was on for 23 weeks. That's 57 Weeks from those 4 and I stopped there.
That is 57 Weeks combined in the Japan Hot 100 but they aren't listed there.
And no don't take my word for it just look it up yourselves. I'm not saying that they beat Twice but they don't deserve your contempt.

that number is crazy not Itzy having 3 songs and 38 weeks withouta JPN debut, JYP wheres the jpn debut?!?!!? I dont know that much about 2nd gen jpn digitals but it seems Kara had better longetivity there then SNSD going by these numbers (tho this is only one chart). With BTS having hit songs like Dynamite and Butter expect their numbers to continue to increase, I guess Shinee was the last SM group to have jpn digital success I wonder if NCT will be able to rise up since they jist got their first gold album..
Wonder who will be the next group to enter this top 10? based on current performance SVT and TXT are the best bets since they already sell well and SVT hit new charting peaks with 一人じゃない

Big enough to inspire Momo to become a K-pop idol and Sana to constantly dance to their song, Karen.

That is because this is limiting it to KPOP groups. If were to add JYP groups instead of KPOP then you would have had NiziU at 115 weeks. And NiziU isn't even 1 year old yet. I mean technically they aren't even 6 months old yet.
Every single one of their songs, not just main songs with a MV, but every song has been in the hot 100 for at least 2 weeks. All of their main songs that do have MVs are still in the hot 100 and never left even with one at 47 weeks.
ITZY was never conceived as in any way a Japanese focused group. NiziU and Twice have been and it shows. I know your thinking but if they only put out a Japanese song then they would do way way better. That is NOT ALWAYS THE CASE. Biggest hit in Japan by BTS is none of their Japanese releases. Their Japanese releases do ok but their Korean or International ones actually do better.
It is actually quite funny because ITZY fans scream for a Japanese release. NiziU fans scream for a Korean release. Meanwhile they both do exceptional were they are as that is the area they were made for.
