Someone said in previous thread that HYBE loaned money to Source Music. Was Gfriend profitable to Hybe?

No clue how the merge would have affected the company negatively. Something going on there. I would have thought the opposite way around. Source had money trouble signs up with Hybe to try to recover. Hybe in turn pump money into them for they promotion, comebacks.

Source wanted to merge, it’s not like they were forced. I bet that if you look much more into it, you would find enough miss management by themselves that could have let to their bankruptcy

Gfriend was overworked, you could see it in the interviews and stuff. The only thing HYBE can do is lend money which is what they did. They can't control the artists. And everyone knows that Source wanted the merge.

Source/Gfriend has sadly been on a decline for years now. The members might have thought its time to move on. They are all included in the hybe museum so I really do think some members are staying as solos not sure if soumu will be dissolved or what. There were rumors a few months back that Min Heejin would get her own label, they might be planning to restructure a bit.

Easy. When the original purchaser may discover that the price paid for the acquisition was too much and so that they shouldn't push more money at it causing an even bigger financial drain. IE) Cut your losses. Everyone is assuming HYBE through money at them but that may not have been the case. Sometimes companies inflate their sales numbers in the months just before the acquisition that makes them more attractive for a buyout but that is unsustainable in the long run.
