Has social media ruined society for good?

Yeah, there are good things. But the way it has corrupted the world in so many ways is terrible. Please make sure to spend time with nature !

I think the good outweighs the bad for the most part.

There have always been bad parts of society throughout history, way before social media existed.

The "social" in social media definitely had been altered to mean something else, the corruption is real, no doubt.

Good and bad imo. Sites like Facebook and Snapchat were always good with connecting with new people and keeping in touch with family and friends, but in recent years the toxic element has taken over with hate and bullying. I don’t use social media anymore because of this reason.

It’s a bit like the internet - it was created for connectivity as well as education and entertainment, but all that has changed in recent years with so much negativity and that’s a great shame.

I think while on a wider level it can do a lot of good by getting messages/news out fast and far on a smaller scale on a person by person basis I think it's done a lot more bad then good.

When I used to go out to eat friends would post their food and mine on social media for no reason, extreme vanity where I've have friends who would ask retake photos of special occasions so they look good in a selfie (a friend had a bday cake carried out but anothe friend threw a bit of a fit because she couldn't get in shot while the cake was being carried in), body image problems, online bullying and so much more.

Yes. Many people that talks trash and harsh on the net are introvert in real life.
