people were too young to live that era and/or the group wasn't popular in their country
Why do people forget some groups? Are some groups forgettable?

I occasionally mention what I feel is their best work when it comes to various groups like 2PM and Secret.
Some don't have that many catalog songs or are no longer together, so I can't champion them all the time.
It's valuable to know where the industry has been in order to know where it's going. It's also good to look back for inspiration and learning opportunities.
Things change and people lose awareness of what some artists and groups have contributed to the industry.

I mean, you don’t see popheads talking about Katy Perry rn. Even Nikki doesn’t get talked about even tho her legacy is far greater than any female rapper active rn.
People will always talk about current groups/trends over older groups.
Also it has to do with longevity. SUJU/TVXQ are still mentioned because they are active and promote. Sadly if your not active, you will be forgotten unless you were a game changing act.

Around half the active users on this forum didnt get into kpop until 2018, so that should answer most of your questions
Oh true that's a factor as well

I assume very record breaking groups like SNSD, WG (maybe) and 2ne1 are the exception to that but it does make sense. What about BEG? They promote, but maybe because of age or something, I don't see them mentioned often

Speaking of BEG, they release music every 3 years(?) I think so that hiatus may be it, but Gain is very frequently a solo and I do see her name pop up sometimes. The only time I see Miryo, JeA and Narsha's names pop up is when talking about Miryo's copyrights for her raps, and JeA and Narsha's vocal skills.
