Thanks! Mafia is a big issue here in Italy. There are people who live in fear because of that and watching a group singing "I'm the mafia" "We do it like the mafia" it's not nice. Mafia kills innocent people and force immigrants to prostitution and work as slave. Also Italians were discriminated and killed in the USA because we were always associated with mafia.

So yes, we don't like that mafia is used as a concept or aesthetic, because now on Twitter is full of people posting selfie with the caption "We do it like the mafia" like if it is a cool thing.

Yet there’s many kpop fans who like to invalidate the feelings of others because they don’t personally feel connected to the issue. For a generation that prides itself in “wokeness” there’s not much of so called empathy coming from them.

According to this generation similes metaphors or hyperboles shouldn’t exist because everyone has trauma.

Time to re structure the English language I suppose.

Ehm no... I'm italian and mafia is an italian word. Mafia is the criminal organization of Sicily. The South of Italy was very poor in the 20th century and a lot of italians from Sicily moved in the USA. Unfortunately also some mafiosi moved in the States and they established gangs there. So americans started to use the word "mafia" as a synonymous of criminal organization

The song is inspired by the mafia game and also calling a game "mafia game" is not very cool, mafia is not something we find funny. In fact the same game in Italy has a different name.

The problem is that lyrics like "I'm the mafia" and "we do it like the mafia" are making look the mafia like something cool. There is a lot of people that think that mafia is about been part of a rich and powerful family and that's because medias are giving a wrong message about this topic.
