    Who cares about full-albums? IU had multiple years when she released ONE song!


    How the hell could I give you updated stats from 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024? 🤣


    Do you even know your own faves? Jennie debuted in 2018, Lisa and Rose in 2021 and Jisoo in 2023. Jenny had the most years to be on top but neither of them were in the TOP5 till 2024 or so.


    IU was the most streamed female Idol on Spotify and even Youtube multiple times and you wanna act as if she's a nugu in the West.


    She's doing these numbers without Western collabs, English songs, being part of a mainstream group etc. So, let's not even dare to compare them, because I'd bet my house as any of the BP members could achieve these numbers without BP.


    You know why? Because before them, you can see how many female soloists were in the TOP5 and with what numbers. IU is pretty much the only female before BP members who had 500M+ streams every year.

    Okay, let's do this. Let's remove 570M from IU, remove more than 2 billion streams from Rose, and Jennie or even more, and a billion or so from Lisa. At least Lisa can say her most streamed songs are not collabs.


    For the record, IU's "eight" was HER own song, Suga was just a feature and producer. But hey, if BP girlies can ride on the popularity of The Weeknd and Bruno oppa etc, why IU can't do the same? Or when it's about your faves, men are allowed to help them? 😂


    IU had TWO big collab in 17 years. Blackpink members had more collabs in 2 years than how many songs they released since their debut.


    So, update your brain, please.


    Side note: I don't give a damn about their collabs, but if you come here to discredit IU because of 2 collab, let's do the same with BP members. The fact is they have massive numbers, mostly because of the Western collabs and being part of a mainstream group.


    Not to mention, IU build her career from the ground, saved her company, never did a single Western promo till 2024, and you kids want to compare her with BP members. Like, they're not even in the same league and never gonna be. Let's talk when they can still do this in their 17th year as a soloist.

    FINALLY! I'm too sick to argue about ridiculous Spotify stats, but I can't stand people who discredit IU and her massive achievement as a soloist.

    It's kinda obvious, she had more songs while the girls had like 1, 2 songs each, but when they released more songs they EASILY surpassed IU bc they are more successful and streamed ww.

    In SK IU is a wall, but ww it's BP.

    Little 7s always bring up album sales like they mean everything, when we all know bulk buying is a thing. Fans buy multiple copies for photocards, fan signs and chart goals which shows fandom dedication, not necessarily broader public reach or long-term relevance. We see this often with boy groups: huge sales, little GP presence...


    Also, GD is already 19 years into his career and still selling 1M albums. That kind of longevity matters. Album sales show peak fandom power but staying relevant for nearly two decades is a different level entirely. We still don’t know if Jungkook’s solo career will have that kind of staying power once the BTS-era momentum fades...
