    This year has been quite rough for aespa. Terrible management, exhausting schedules, bad spotify charting, horrendous and endless hate trains... you name it! Many where calling it aespa's 'flop' year mmmm...


    I do agree that aespa underperformed with their latest releases...


    But then what is this??

    I mean when people refer to having a bad year people are referring to the songs released THIS year. I think everyone knows whiplash is a big hit and continued to be streamed.


    You will see the effect of the current under performance only next year. If they once again have average releases.

    well you're kinda right but whiplash is a end year release, so this year also kinda counts. it's not like it was supernova. mama even counted the song in it's end year charts. a weeks apart and so would have melon :wellr: . and they didn't have all this album sales and streams JUST out of Whiplash either...


    anyway, their biggest problem this year was sm. they treated and promoted aespa like SHT X( . on top of being the target of many hate trains and media plays... but again, sm didn't protect them X(X( .


    but im pretty sure they will do better next year :eyes: ...

    It’s nothing like that groups have up and down not everything really needs to be a mega hit and SM has never subscribed to that formula.


    It all depends on how their next cb will do. If this was just a normal dip or if it was a downward trajectory.

    Aespa is now established a reputation among the GP. The most obvious indicator is that they still chart high even with bad songs. So it's not like they are losing GP interest.


    A good song will fix them all.
