Why isn’t Babymonster charting better on Melon?

  • Because the combination of 2 reasons:

    1. BM haven't established themselves as a reputable singer,

    2. People don't like the songs / the songs don't get viral.

If a group have 1, even worst songs will chart. Without 1, it need other factors.

  • I mean but with how high Sheesh and Drip charted, I felt like that would keep them afloat at least in the public eye

But Hot Sauce, We Go Up, and now Psycho have all underperformed. They’re not even cracking top 100 on melon daily.

  • Can we leave these little misses alone please

  • I told you this so many times. You should be happy they're not topping Charts in their first 2 years because if they do that, YG would never give them a diverse discography. They would be the next Blackpink, and not in a good way. They would become the new cow he's milking. With slower buildup, they can become actual artists over time.

Also, the public is bored with YG music and sadly, most of their Title Tracks are bland, not to mention the negative PR nonsense that YG is doing with Ahyeon for example.

  • Tbh I wouldn’t worry too much! The interest is there as they seem to top almost every other metric!

BM are still quite young and coming into their own. They’ve already peaked high so we know it’s possible :!: YG should aim for consistency and familiarity

Don’t give them the YG marketing formula ( it’s outdated). In a generation where privacy and mystery isn’t cool or interesting! Send them to all the media/entertainment shows. Let them mix with other idols and the public.

I feel really bad for BM girls sometimes, you see other groups their gen/age mixing forming friendships and fan service for the public then BM are not present :?:

The old saying “working alone can lead to quicker results, but collaboration and teamwork are essential for achieving long-term or more ambitious goals“.

  • I still don't understand why they're going the exclusive route with Babymonster. Companies need to learn interacting with other idols is easy marketing. It will increase the chances of people checking out the music. I remember Meovv was going that route with their debut, and then changed their approach with their comeback. I felt it only benefited them and there was more hype for their music.

I just don't think that marketing tactic works anymore and tbh it only worked for blackpink because they're an anomaly. I think for a group's image it doesn't help and only hinders them. Also, like you said friendships can be built from these interactions because there's many friendships that started from interacting with other idols, and they might be missing out on that.

I just hope for their sake YG removes the exclusivity for the group because that part is not working. The group is doing fine because they have the sales, large fanbase, but just needs more visibility in Korea.

  • Their music is dated and isn't getting any better. Psycho is a song that sounds like it should've came out in 2020-2021 not 2025. Their are so many other groups actually releasing interesting and beautiful music worth the listeners time and BM isn't one of them.
