unless they moved forward and had meeting before official mediation in which they've came to some kind of agreement

  • Hmm... I'm smelling something being cooked up between Ador, MHJ, and the girls... Might mean MHJ gets the IPs in lieu of her put option.

That, or they're sunsetting the IP.

We'll probably get more info tomorrow.

  • People need to get this straight, Nj can only be free in a few ways:

    1. Negotiate an exit deal

They can’t just throw money and walk away like everyone keep asking them to do if Ador says no. If they lose the main case, those penalty fees are for breaking the contract rules, not ending the contract itself. They need Ador mutual agreement to do so.

    2. Wait it out until 2029

That basically means an indefinite hiatus until the contract naturally expires.

    3. Win the main court case

The verdict’s expected around October, if I’m remembering right. If they lose this one, it's over. I'm sorry. Yes, they can challenge the results but again it will take years to settle.

This is why I criticise Njs’ move and think they were given bad advices by the adults around them to do this, tbh. They really only have one realistic way out, while Ador has multiple. They’re at a huge disadvantage and we all know that. A court fight against a huge company especially when the girls barely 2 years in their careers? You know the answer.

50/50 ex-members could get an early exit only because their CEO ends their contracts but then sues afterward. Honestly, if Nj lose the main case, that might actually be the best outcome for them, at least they’d be free to move on and keep working despite carrying huge debts on their back. I believe some huge companies will fight to get them.

  • By the ay the site is now, we know it is one or two things: IP is being sunset, or they have managed to get their IP, and leave (with whatever arrangement). Either way, the girls are no longer there. We'll get a statement on the 14th.

  • the name isnt, but the girls can be depending on what its said in some days

on thing is ending their contract and a whole different thing is having the ip and ownership of their material (which is more likely not happening in many years or ever)

and the only way this end fast if tis they mediate for it to be 50/50

if not, they are gonna keep fighting this in court for years

Most likely their IP is slowly being sunset. They’re still listed as Hybe artists on Hybe’s official site. On their personal website, Ador was nowhere to be seen so I guess they might have just moved NJ directly under Hybe instead of keeping them under a label. Could be another shady move from Hybe to sunset their Ip. I'm not surprised too if they fk this to seperate Nj from Ador completely and rebrand that company as their nbg will be debuted sooner or later.

As for the girls getting their IP back, that’s not happening yet. The court hasn’t made a decision. Leaving? No way. Mediation only started on August 14 at 2 p.m., so we won’t get any big decision or statement that day. At most, we’ll hear whether either side rejected the mediation or if it actually worked.

Ador is still listed on NewJeans' site, with the copyright (albeit 2024).

Separately, the IP can't be moved without MHJ being informed, and the other two who own 1% each. Remember, she is still a shareholder in Ador, and fighting for that put option. If they move the IP without informing her, they will have opened themselves a can of worms with more legal action.

Do remember though that this is what the court had ordered. No one is stopping both parties from talking outside of it.

But that’s not what’s happening here bor what I mean. Hybe hasn’t moved the IP, they’ve just changed how NJ is listed publicly. That’s purely a branding or PR decision, not a legal transfer of rights. The trademarks and IP still belong to Ador, which own by Hybe and that makes Hybe have ultimate control on how that IP being used.

So removing NJ from Ador’s artist page and listing them under Hybe directly doesn’t break any shareholder rules. Yet I’ve been wondering too why they do that. And that's why I'm guessing it’s part of sunsetting NJ’s IP (like they find some benefits against Nj by doing that) and probably helping Ador rebrand for their new boy group.

With both sides so stubborn and Hybe’s big ego, I doubt it. It only make sense if Nj totally gone from all Hybe artists' list. But they're still in fact there.

The were listed under Hybe on their site to begin with...
