Am I the only one who think Naevis should be sacked?

  • Do you agree? 10

    1. Yes (4) 40%
    2. I don't mind it, but I don't care (4) 40%
    3. No (2) 20%

I mean, I never liked it, but I just don't get why SM spending money on this when they could spend more to promote Aespa.

Changed the title of the thread from “Am I the only one who think Maevis should be sacked?” to “Am I the only one who think Naevis should be sacked?”.
  • They trying to be the next HUNTR/X

Funny enough they debuted way earlier than them.

Not really the same thing, even tho I know you're just trolling.😂

For me personally, I couldn't care less. It's a nice bit of side-lore for Aespa.

Didn't like Naevis's first song and haven't listened to these. Might check it out when it drops or maybe not.

TBH, I reckon Aespa are already making them big big dollars, they don't really need extra promo tbh

My biggest problem is that it's AI, and some of you already know my stance on AI.

They could make more money if they promote them better, especially in the US. They're still paying for the collab version of Dirty Work on Spoti, and not the original version.😂

  • My biggest problem is that it's AI,

Which is why i think why so many of you are missing the make.

Naevis has ZERO to do with Aespa. The people working on Naevis probably have no connection or no idea what Aespa are doing.

Naevis is strictly AI R&D for SM to see if they can make a unique voice from other idols, it helps the push boundaries of music industry AI. Or create a hit animated group. They are probably thinking one day, they could have a member of a group leave, and STILL recreate their voices in a group.

Who cares of Baekhyun leaves EXO, we own his voice.

That is what SM could potentially be after. Aespa isn’t on Naevis radar.

  • The sad thing is that you're actually right, and this is the future. Hollywood already planing to use AI and scanning the faces of actors who died or extras so they can't use it for free.

Many new Kpop fan don't care about live singing anymore, they can't tell the difference between real live, and live AR, so if a group is popular enough the rest is not important. Kpop is basically just one or two steps from debuting a successful AI group.

But hey, we will always have some nugus who still provide good music and real talent.

  • There is precedent that virtual groups can be successful so I can see why they keep trying for it. Not my cup of tea so I just tune it out.

There is no one afaik. Successful virtual soloist yes, the most famous one is Hatsune Miku.

For virtual groups the nearest examples are 2.5D groups: animated characters with real human voices.

  • FYI, I didn't like K/DA or KPOP Demon Hunters so Naevis is no different for me.

In other words, I don't like CGI/AI KPOP. It's just odd as hell.

So you like 2D hand-drawn characters?

But this thing is time consuming, and very hard to do when it comes to choreography. Even in anime there are not many did 2D choreography.

CGI is the best choice after all.
