It's simple. They needed Twice's name attached to the movie to get Onces to open their wallets and buy whatever they were putting out.
No one was talking about this movie before its release. They baited us into thinking that Twice's song would be played in the movie and NOT the ending credits which most people usually skip. Like just look at this tweet 😭
They were mentioning Twice in EVERY post regarding this movie, hoping to get engagement from Onces. 
Anyway, I am not really mad about this whole thing. Twice has benefitted a LOT by being featured in this movie, though the exposure would have been much greater if their version was played in the movie not just at the ending credits. But still. It's fine. Republic managed to get Strategy on the soundtrack and its streams are increasing massively so at the end of the day Twice is winning!
