For IU - that is lyrical authenticity, are they going to audition for that?

Yes, it is just marketing play, to attract TRP for the show.
Though every act is unique, at least as a business model reference, next BTS/BP are feasible- But IU, she fits into no category. They broke the mold when they made her

There is nobody in the Blue House, since there would be no President for quite a while and if the current one somehow makes it back this won't be one of his most urgent concerns.
That aside, Korea does not need another IU, given the incalculable damage and destruction the first one has caused to KPop.
IU had worked as a counterweight against KPop, a huge ball of steel chained at the foot so KPop acts cannot fly out of Korea, and we don't need another one

Both Adele and Celine Dion had arena at their heights. Celine Dion only did stadium concerts in, out of all countries, South Africa since it appears that not many singers come down all the way to there so her tour there would be the only time people in that country would be able to see her.
In fact it appears out of all balladists around the world, Lee Jieun, whose tour is the largest of all balladists originating from Korea, would probably be in the top 10.

Lyricism is not an instant activity to the extent performance is. But it is not impossible, if they structure the program to give time for lyrics.
I know a sound engineer who worked for a famous music director of past years. He used to detail the working style.
First is composition of the tune/rhythm etc., then the lyricists walks in and writes the words to the song, then the playback singers come, learn, rehearse and then they go for the take. All happens in half a day.
But at that pro level, the composer, the lyricists all have a good stock of content for most situations already half cooked, so it is just a matter of tweaking and fitting.
Tough for rookies to do that, unless given ample time.
