Just got to say it and pop off.
Can someone remind me why we banned the anonymous thread again?

Btw everyone who answered here and said "sensitive fans, etc" just know I remember you all defending your faves when non fans said something not nice about them so stop the act bc with anonymous would be you there saying shit about others while getting defensive here too and acting like a wronged kid

I always found it to be the worst idea. It's basically an "unpopular opinion thread" from twitter and that's not a compliment at all.
As said above, no accountability makes people say crazy things and that's something considering wild things can be said even publicly here and on other platforms.

There's no way a single one of the things said on this type of thread will be constructive or remotely interesting anyway so yeah, no point.

If someone wants to say something mean so badly they should at least have to balls to stand for it.

I miss OH... its peak years were glorious, there was something for everyone
Display MoreCuz people usef to visit the anonymous thread and then complain about what they read here
Which is a mentality i've never understood
If you don't want to be expose to what's being said in the anonymous thread don't go there and you'll don't have to complain about it then
I've never understood this masochistic mentality that some users had here
This is what I didn't get either. If you dislike a section, why even visit it? It's very simple to ignore or avoid a section that you disagree with.
But then I saw threads pop up in the usual K-pop forum that were literally nothing but copies and links to anonymous threads, followed up with long rants about this or that thread or post in the anonymous section. It was wild, en weird
and maybe masochistic of the people doing it.It was closed and completely removed from the system due to the massive amount of doxxing of not only staff but other users on the site and not having anyway to track it and keep people accountable for it. Because the system would generate exactly what it said, anonymous alias which were not attached to the posters.
It was removed for safety of people's privacy and it will not be coming back.
If you want to say something kinda dumb or weird, just do it, but also keep in mind freedom of speech does not mean freedom of consequences if you say something too out of line.
I was less active in those days, I must have missed that: how did it even work, doxxing of anonymous posts and posters?
As for freedom of speech not meaning freedom of consequences, I dunno, I agree, but in the US there has been a mass conversion and mind retraining going on for years now that yes, you really CAN say something even far out of line w/o consequences (as long as you're part of the group of loudest shouters or part of the group where the power lies).

It was awful but I miss being able to shitpost without judgement

Yeah i never understood this
it's like if me as a non gamer i would go to the gaming section
and then go to complain why there's a gaming section
