Will 2025 be Stray Kids' year?

  • As the Australian rule of KPop intensifies, Stray Kids, whose leader and chief producer is Australian (despite of the inconvenient fact that he was born in Korea), is set to become the leading act of KPop .

Seventeen has shot its last bolt. Its core members, Woozi and Hoshi, are going to enlist this year and they are going to spend their last days before enlistment on their own activities, and BSS will make what looks like their final comeback since by the time Soonyoung returns Boo Seungkwan will probably have to enlist.

So, there is no one who can stop SKZ, which has 25 stadium dates in the Americas and Europe, before its probable comeback and a tour of warmer Southeast Asia and Australia later this year.

Since there won't be any SVT albums, SKZ will be the best selling act of 2025, and it will win at all major Grand Prizes.

There are rumors that BTS would come back in late this year but chances are it will be 2026 since some members will still be running their own schedules before.

And, frankly speaking, BTS cannot engage SKZ directly now, since if BTS is defeated it is the end for it.

Those who argued that BTS should enlist probably could not see Australians ruling KPop, but that is what it is.

Christopher Bang, who doesn't really respect KPop (he refused to pay filial duty to the Senior Singer), would be very glad to knock BTS down.

  • The fire at HYBE has distracted most industry watchers.

I wonder if anyone has checked the revenues of Big 4 in the last 2 years. I wouldn't be surprised if JYPE is bringing in most revenue.

Both TWICE and SKZ are killing it on physical sales and more important- concerts. But they are almost invisible in Korean charts.

And seem will continue to do so in 2025 as well.

Yes, SVT did not take over from BTS, SKZ stole the thunder. And yes, it is anecdotal, but the American teens I have spoken with in the last year, follow SKZ, often not even thinking them as Kpop.

BTS is as old as Beatles to them.

While BTS return tour is bound to be huge, I doubt if the 00/10s born are becoming ARMY in any large numbers. But that is to be expected, time can never be denied.. unless one is 1400+ years old and counting.

Bangchan IU, shows quite enough results in search, listening to Seungmin covers of her, reacting etc., what more do you want as filial duty?

  • All I remember is when SKZ and the Senior Singer were in some events, the Korean members of SKZ did go to see her, but Christopher did not.

That aside, SKZ appeals more to the younger cohort, who do not know BTS. THat is quite important.

00/10s will probably go with SKZ or one of the newer acts, since BTS fans are now mostly in their 30s.

  • Stray Kids have been doing amazing over the past few years, and 2025 could be their biggest year yet. They’ve gained a lot of popularity worldwide, and with their great music, awards, and sold-out concerts, it looks like they’re just getting started.

What do you think? Will 2025 be Stray Kids’ year? What big things do you think they will achieve? Maybe a Grammy nomination or a huge world tour?
