Is this the most accurate Big3 of each Gen?

  • Not loading for me but I'm gonna guess

The original tweet seems to have been deleted, but here's what it said:

  • it is convenient for you to say IDLE can be EASIYL argued ahead of aespa. Except for sales and PAKs, GIDLE barely has any stronger point than aespa overall.

International streams also conveniently be disregarded. Aespa obviously have the stronger edge there.

    Sales: GIDLE

    KR charting-points: aespa

    KR charting PAKS: GIDLE

    Touring: aespa

    international streams: aespa

Aespa had moderate size hits between Next Level and Supernova.

i find it weird that you said anything between Next Level and Supernova are "moderate" and then give credits to Queencard, Nxde. Savage hits PAK, Spicy outlasted Queencard, Drama also shaping up to be a big international streaming hit.

On top of that, now Whiplash is also shaping up to be a much bigger hit than Klaxon was.

So where is the ground that GIDLE has more hits than aespa?

  • people only follow aespa for their visuals if we're being honest, GIDLE's discography clears. They can battle it out for the #3 position even though I don't agree that IDLE are a 4th gen but whateves. IVE still comfortably sits in that 2nd spot

  • This post is nothing but cope.

Don't bring up international streams as if aespa is some powerhouse there to the point it can be used to separate them from IDLE. They've never once made it to the Billboard Hot 100. Until they do, it doesn't really matter to me.

They didn't even make the podium in what was by far their career best year.

As for Korean charting, I don't care how much you cry about it, but the fact is that, yes, aespa has only had moderate hits between Next Level and Supernova. And during the time in between those songs, IDLE went on a massive PAK streak which has no historic precedent on the charts from any girl group.

I know aespa fans want us to forget there was a 3 year gap between aespa's biggest hit songs, but it existed. By the end of 2023, it wouldn't be controversial at all to say IDLE had a better year.

So yes, IDLE could EASILY be argued top 3 like I said.

You people act like aespa is 2023 NewJeans or something

my god that gap is preposterous! NJ really out here competing with no one but themselves - literally and figuratively, like remember when OMG blocked Ditto for a who ass week? and it still broke BTS's PAK - the one record everyone thought was untouchable

Don't waste your time. He will just cherry pick the info that suits his position every time.

Notice how Aespa apparently doesn't have a hit in the 3 years between Next Level and Supernova, but he doesn't mention that they had an 11 month hiatus in that time frame and that Savage, Girls, Spicy and Drama are all bigger than anything that Gidle released in the 4 years before they had their first major hit with Tomboy.

    Yes and?

GIDLE and aespa didn't start on an even playing field, so bringing up the early years of IDLE only makes their present day accomplishments all the more impressive

There is a massive difference between debuting in Cube and debuting in SM, the most storied big label in the industry with an impeccable, rich history of top girl groups and all the privilege that comes with it

I don't give aespa a pass just for having a hiatus. The fact NewJeans is being sabotaged by their own label doesn't stop people from making asinine claims about the year they just had.

    I'm only stating facts.

After Next Level, aespa never had another hit at that level until Supernova, and GIDLE, that group that had to fight its way to the top, was more dominant digitally last year and sold more albums this year.

They have an argument for top 3.

aespa had a great year, but it objectively pales in comparison to the best we've seen from IVE, let alone NewJeans, so yes, if GIDLE were to replace a group in the top 3, it would be them.

Take your emotional investment out of it and just look at the facts.

  • Hot 100 again. Why are we always needing the US validation when we have BB200 and BB200 exc US? Aren't WW better indiciation than hot 100 which solely on US? And why hot 100 only? Oricon for JP market? Chinese market? Dont be selective if you talk about international streaming. You are only selective when it fits your narrative.

And no one acted like aespa was 2023 NJ. It was you who constantly downplaying aespa and be selective in recognising achievement. I honestly not sure what are you on when you dismiss achievement of Savage, Spicy, Drama etc

Spicy & Drama & Whiplash were constantly #2 (spicy hit #1 on Melon). Are we on this stage where we are dismissing even #2 peaking songs as huge hits? On top of that, we are not talking about #2 songs that peaked fast and dropped. These songs literally have longevity on charts. If want to be selective, why not only recognise SOTY awarded songs as "huge hit" then GIDLE has 0 LMAO.

No one dimiss aespa achievement as much as you in this forum, but you go on defensive mode when someone talks about NJ

  • No one dimiss aespa achievement as much as you in this forum

Go hit the showers. You're thoroughly washed anyways and clearly too emotional to actually have a meaningful discussion about this. The entire rambling, raging rant reads like:

    :meme-ahhh:

Look, I don't care what you think, and you will never change what I think (I'm right obviously). aespa have accomplished nothing of note internationally, and there was a 3 year gap between their 2 legitimate huge hit songs. Period.

By the numbers, their best year, this year, still isn't half as impressive as the best we've seen from IVE, let alone NewJeans, so using simple logic, if IDLE took a spot in the top 3, it would be theirs.

Now, run along whilst I'm still in the mood to simply humor your temper tantrums. My cordiality has an expiration date.
