Poll: Have you ever been upset at Koreans because your favorites underperformed in Korea?

  • The chart seems more about whether the song is really good or not that appeal to general public and less about massive online streaming by fandom like international chart (that I found kind of cheating). It's good cause it will give any artist (esp. nugu) time to shine, and I get to hear gold like Younha, akmu, jannabi.

  • whether a song is good or bad is a personal decision and preference

whether a song charts or sells well depends on the preferences of the masses and if the masses have a different taste than me that's just

    different strokes for different folks

  • Didn't they recently become the fifth best selling third gen group after Blackpink, Twice, Red Velvet, and Mamamo? Seems like they did pretty well from their Minx days.

Do they ever cover their Minx songs? Would love to see their twist on "Why Did You Come to My Home"...

I think it's mainly their strong international fanbase driving sales. Interestingly, they do have a lot of "friends" and fans in the actual kpop community. Members of Twice and other groups have been to their concerts etc.

And yeah, they've accepted Minx now, and usually doat least Love Shake at their concerts

I figured it was international but still. They did well.

I'm going to search for "Why Did You Come to My Home" now. It's too good for them not to cover. It's second on Minx Spotify too.

  • I'm not gonna lie, I was quite upset when they didn't support Jihyo's solo the way I expected ;( I did all I could, but as an international fan I was limited to buying albums and doing some voting. She put so much work into it, working on the songs herself and really showing her passion for music, and there was also the issue with millions of youtube views being deleted day after day, I still feel upset sometimes when I thinking about it. I wish korean Once supported her more. I think the same thing might have happened with Tzuyu.

I guess you could tell that korean Once are not as supportive of Twice releases too, as they were in the past, but they're already hugely popular and don't need the wins that much, imo.

Another case was f(x) Luna's solo debut, but I knew that she's the least popular, sadly, so I didn't expect much :holding-back-tears:

  • We can't force people to like something so no. I accept them not liking the same groups as me. But I am upset about the unnecessary hate on certain people or groups, making rumors into scandals. That is an ill-meaning choice on their part.

Oh, that's a very good way of thinking and I wholeheartedly agree.

I was upset with them not supporting some idols in the past, but what you mentioned is far more important. Some of the comments under the articles and things that are blown up into the "scandals" are absolutely awful and should never happen. Sadly, it's not uncommon in entertainment in general, but I will never understand how some people can be so spiteful and full of hate.

Yes! For example I don't stan Jennie but it annoys me how much international and korean fans bad mouth the way she dresses for this or that. It's not our business if it's not a fashion show where dresses ARE important. The wedding scandal was ridiculous. It's the business of the bride and groom to be upset or not upset about a dress a guest wears. And I won't even begin with friendship or dating scandals. It was just on my mind because I have seen the news on this a few days ago and I found it not article or mention worthy.

I haven't even heard about the wedding scandal but it's obvious that strangers shouldn't be concerned with something like that. I think around 99% of the scandals are silly and unnecessary, the only exception may be when someone actually break the law or does something bad. And even then, I never engage and hate on that person, just keep my opinion to myself. I guess it's the bad side of the internet and free speech, but quite often it gets out of hand and it's sad to see.

I've heard that some idols don't read online articles about themselves, so hopefully it doesn't affect some of them that much. They became public people, but there should still be some boundaries.
