I don't think they were allowed to even have IGs or do solo deals till 2022. I think hybe restricts them more than YG did in terms of solo ventures. YG only put restrictions on releasing music while hybe micro monitors their every move. (I stanned both groups at one point,so it's just something I observed).

They opened their igs in late 2021. After they became famous internationally, they stopped doing solo activities like attending variety shows and acting in kdramas. Their individual music was only released in soundcloud back then.

YG prioritized individual work over the group while they could get brand deals and have more freedom they were limited in the group, they have worked with the same people since their debut so no creative freedom in term of music meanwhile HYBE will rather sacrificed their individual popularity so the group could last longer but at least the members can produce their songs and are involved in the writing process so there is no point for them to leave unless they have a problem with Hybe management but we don’t know their relationship with bang PD.

Some of the members did hesitate to renew and took longer time deciding. With how shady Hybe's been exposed lately, I kinda hope they just stay put for their own sake. After being with Bh for over a decade, the company probably has a lot of 'secrets' they could use against them if they don’t renew. Honestly, we as employees know that company like this is pretty scary to mess with.

I can only talk about bts. They've had solo tracks on albums since forever. They can make their own music. They couldn't go solo even if they wanted because their tours are so damn long. If COVID hadn't happened they'd enlisted earlier. COVID actually worked in their favour, they did well with English singles. They started doing solo works when they finally took a break from touring and started preparing for army. Hense them releasing solos one after another and enlisting soon after.
