Seventeen's first day sales declines by 6.6% -it won't break 3 million

Seventeen's last album, a best album, sold 2.26 million on the first day and eventually sold 2.95mil in first week.

Seventeen's new album sold 2.11 million on the first day, a decline of 6.6%.

Since most of first week sales occur in the first day, except in rarer case like Le Sserafim where Crazy,after the Coachella disaster,started with 200,000 and panicked Fearnots bought as many albums as they could (but still ended at less than 700,000,about 30% decline from its Crazy album at 989k earlier this year), and it is not easy for Seventeen's Chinese fans to react fast, it has become certain that despite of claims of having a 3mil pre-order, Seventeen's new album will fall short of its best album , showing a further decline of KPopl

With KPop in a general, inexorable retreat which is becoming a rout, this is very worrisome.

Still Seventeen will always be able to brag itself to BTS that it sold more albums than Hybe's best known act. I don't think Seventeen members respect BTS at all,since SVT holds the KPop record of selling the most albums.

was basically the peak of kpop album sales

since then you had inflation, prices of everything went up, and in addition to that people started to move,

then they've just stayed home and ordered albums, now they are going to cinema, swimming pool, to restaurant, holidays etc.

it's normal thing, the only 'reverse' trend to that are probably sports games, at least here in Europe

That is after a 40% decline, from 5 mil in 2023 to less than 3 mil in 2024.

There are a lot of us being more selective on what we buy nowadays. The prices of everything from groceries to gas going up without a concurrent increase in wages makes it where you have to be a bit more selective on non essential items.

Judging from your sig I would judge that a new BTS album would be an essential item.
