Is brushing aside controversial issues a sign of maturity?

  • I remember a point in time when every little thing would cause a big uproar.

    - company ignored a member's individual opportunity because they profit more from group activities > MISTREATMENT!

(ie Jungkook and Super Bowl cf. EXO member opportunities)

    - an idol colors their hair the same color as another idol > RIPOFF!

(ie Joy and Yuna red hair cf. Lisa and Chaeyoung orange hair)

As kpop fans age and less younger fans join there's been a shift in the perception and reaction to things. Less emotional and idealistic and more pragmatic and realistic. This is why a lot more kpop fans than expected side with HYBE because they understand that companies don't care about your feelings, they are there to keep the shareholders happy. Many kpop fans now are in their 30s, especially Armys, some are in their 40s. Many of us have been there to witness the split of TVXQ, EXO exits, departure of Jessica, Burning Sun, countless official and unofficial disbandments, Produce riggings, and every controversy under the sun. Now most fans accepted the world for what it is and not what they though it should be.

  • depends on the circumstances and what a "controversy" is

also controversies differ to Koreans vs Western fans etc etc

each controversy must be treated according to its own circumstances

  • And somefans react in very rude and immature ways to controversies. But sadly this type of behaviour is encouraged in Kpop fandoms on Twitter/X. And there's websites and YouTubers like KOOKIELIT and Haevix who add fuel to the fire. These types of "content creators" make controversy out of every little thing and sometimes take things out of context to create drama and get views.

And a lot of fans don't bother to fact check anything and jump into conclusions. This behaviour needs to be stopped.

    No. It's because it's Jungkook.

    Jungkook Everywhere! (@JK_Everywhere) on X
There is a lot I can say, but I want to be respectful and really do try to keep this account for support only, but I'm livid over the "no comment" response…

How many likes this has??? The comments. Hilarious and mad hypocritical.

Now imagine if Suga couldn't go. There will be purpule lights on Eiffel Tower, #Hybe corupted #we love you Suga.

  • Hmmm that tweet was from 2021. The world was different then, back when successfully advancing into America was more important than protecting HYBE
