Lisa's solo flopped in America (can this be debunked)

  • Based on the stream analysis, her US streams aren't high or consistent. Which isn't surprising. Lisa is a "global" star, not an American star. However, this will limit her in the long run. She needs to do great in a huge market (US, Japan, or China), otherwise she'll only be iconic in Thai SNS and not in the western mainstream that she seems to be going for. And with the huge investment that the comeback was, it won't be sustainable without it.

  • I'm a Lisa fan, but I would be almost relieved if the song flopped. It was really bad.

But what sources is this person using for their information? I don't see anything cited? How reliable is the info that they're basing their conclusions on? I guess it's common knowledge where those numbers come from among stream analyzers?

  • The chances she will be a "global star" is like 5% and I'm a bit generous with that. She is a kpop star, that is a totally different thing. It of cource depends on how you define the concept "global star". I say the same thing about CL, it's the same for Lisa even if I thing Lisa have a bigger chance maybe.

it took Sabrina Carpenter & Chappell Roan 10 years. For her first post-YG single, the results are actually really good. Very, VERY few idols could've achieved the same result. I don't know why they expect Lisa to become a megastar on her very first try. Is she that powerful?

Not sure why your comparing Lisa to those two when the situations are vastly different. Didn't Chappell Roan basically work her way up from the bottom after multiple failures, having to work multiple side jobs to keep afloat and being dropped by Sony? And Sabrina Carpenter was a disney kid but that doesn't carry anywhere near as much weight as it used to. It took years of working her way up to finally have a break out song, she didn't have anywhere near as big of a fanbase or public awareness of her as a singer as Lisa.

Lisa's situation is more akin to destiny's child and their solo's during the groups hiatus and disbandment. She did good yeah, but coming from such a high start, especially with how well money did, people expected this to be money 2.0

  • The drop though 😭😭😭

  • There is just something about todays music, and this is not signaling kpop, but music in general where the lyrics dont make sense and they keep repeating the same lyrics over and over again. Unfortunately Lisa's Rockstar falls in that category.
