Most Preferred Commercial Models in Korea - no 4th gen KPop figures?

A place called Korea Research International did a survey of the most preferred commercial models of Korea.

    And the results were surprising.

    10. Kim Jiwon - 31 years old

    9. Chaeunwoo - 27. 3rd Gen KPop figure but better known as an actor/model.

    8. Jeon Jihyun - 42

    7. Gong Yoo -44

    6. Yoo Jaesuk - 51

    5. Son Heungmin - 31

    4. Lim Youngwoong - 32

    3. Kim Soohyun - 36

    2. Kim Yuna - 33

    1. Lee JIeun - 1,345.

None of them belongs to the 4th Gen.

The lack of an It Girl in the 4th Gen is marked.

Interestingly 31-33 years olds are the most famous, since there are 4 of them in there, or 5 if we include the 1,345 years old.

Chaeunwoo, the youngers of them, is the only one in his 20s

None of the 4th Gen figures was included.

In the old days, a mother was expected to give everything to her children, although sometimes that was not the case.

But modern mothers often steal the children's food, money , et cetera.

Lee JIeun, KPop's Senior Singer, undoubtly the richest female singer in Korean Pop, and probably the richest active KPop idol (not counting those who inherited money from their families), and the only singer who debuted after 2000 and got counted in the ranks of KPop company owners,

    has the following current commercials:

    Hite Jinro - Soju

Kyungdong Pharma - Gunaelen, a pain reducer

    J. Estina

    Gucci

    Black Yak, an outdoor wear

    Evezary, which makes beddings

    New Balance

    Pepsi Zero Sugar

    Woori Bank

    Estee Lauder

10 endorsements, the most in KPop

She recently lost Samdasoo, a mineral water brand, to Lim Youngwoong and also lost Domnio's Pizza, but gained Estee Lauder.

Is it fair for her to steal from the hands of yiounger generations of KPop to enrich herself further?

New Jeans paid her a lot of filial duty, but she recently invited Do Kyungsoo of EXO, which went through the departures and lawsuits of the Chinese members, to her Palette show.

Which basically showed her stance in this matter - she supports the company positions, and does not endorse disputes with companies.

That might be because she was an owner herself, having owned Edam Entertainment 2020-2022.

Still, by taking the most number s of CF she takes the spots from the newer generation.

Yet younger generation has to pay filial duty to the figure who takes away their income. Another sign of the strangeness of KPop.

  • I mean, most of 4th gen are literally teenagers or early 20s lol.

The people you listed, most of them have been in the industry over a decade or longer than 4th gen have even been alive lmao.

    Let's give them time.

In the fast it was much faster for KPop figures, such as Yoona and Suzy, to catch the attention of Koreans but now it takes virtually an eternity.

Even none of the Blackpink members made this list.

Yoona and Suzy were also actresses.

I think in order to break out in Korea like the people you listed, you can't just be a KPOP star.

I feel like to reach the national level where you appeal to all demographics (young, young adult, adult, and elder), you need to either have a somewhat successful acting career, be a national athlete, or a household name. The only one on this list who sticks out to me is Lim Youngwoong, but he is a young trot singer who has a large ahjumma fanbase. So I guess it makes sense.

I think BlackPink appeals a lot to young and young adult audiences but not the older crowd like the other people listed.

  • IU have had the most high profile cfs and topped the cf model lists for at least three consecutive years now, so this isnt really that surprising

With a few exceptions, kpop idols are usually nowhere close to the top even when they are called it girls/boys of their generation. They are the top for idols and whatever generation they are prefixed with, but reaching the absolute top of celebrites when it comes to public recognition and trust is much harder, and kpop idols these days are for the most part focused on overesas activities.

I dont think theres been any kpop idol that have even come close to the top ranks in the last decade really.

Yea, LYW lives off his fandom who is extremely supportive of everything he does, be it cfs, music or just news articles where hes consistently have the 20most liked arcticles basically every single day on naver. And of course one of the few cf models that actually has a huge reach on older demographics

  • It is amazing that Chaeunwoo did make it that far, being the only person in the 20s to make the list.

People in Korea were following IU in 2011 and are still doing so in 2024, which is unthinkable in placess like Japan.
