And yes, it often is, like in this case.

However, they never make articles the other way around:

" Many American singers have been in rehab, whilst this happens far less in Kpop"

"Britney for years being financially abused, while Taeyeon lives a free and happy life still being successful"

"Several One Direction members can't stand each other and snipe at each other on social media, while many Kpop groups are still together for much longer without ever being negative to each other online or in the press"

"Mother Miley Cyrus married her daughter's boyfriend, while Kpop singers have parents that are still together after 30 years".

"Nicki bodyshaming Megan, while Kpop ladies take happy selfies together"

I'm aware . My post was not directed at you, but at Western media always comparing the Western music industry in a positive way to Kpop, but never doing it the other way around despite the MANY MANY problems in the American/Western music industry.

Western or not, Karina dating would probably be less frowned upon if she were as unappealing as Taylor Swift.

A number of Kpop idols would be in rehab too if Korean society hadn't stigmatized their issues to such a high degree, so they instead just keep it all to themselves.

Taeyeon is a homebody with chronic depression... who also suffered immensely from a dating scandal.

Kpop idols simply aren't given the freedom to shade each other in public. They'd be reprimanded. That hasn't always prevented them from having serious fallouts. See: Girls Generation. We've also discovered multiple cases of Kpop groups having hated or even bullied each other in secret. Or the time a girl cried wolf and tore her entire group down for supposedly "bullying" her. In addition, Kpop groups aren't usually given much creative freedom, making job-related disagreements significantly less likely than for western bandmates.
