Let's say Karina dated a western celebritiy, let's say Timothee Chalamet. Would the reaction be more on the positive side in Korea?
If female idols dated western male celebrities, would fans be less critical than with koreans?

For whatever reason, Korean celebrities prefer to date other Koreans. I do not know why.

It’s common sense that it should be language barrier if it’s non korean…

The same idiotic fans will have the same amount of conniption fits.
Because "dating equals scandals" in their eyes.

Timothee's fans were having a stroke over him dating kendall Jenner I don't think karina would be spared
I didn't even know he had fans like that lol
Kylie not kendall sorry

Because her fans think he’s into New York girls wearing tote bags
And to answer to the question. No because k-pop fans are deranged and Karina has one of the worst solo fanbase.

God forbid any idol breathes near Charlie Puth oppa

You'd definitely see some racism come out. Especially if they weren't a white dude or of Korean ancestry.

I mean the difference between Karina and Kylie is like the difference between a bottle of Chateau d'Yquem and a bottle of rancid, low quality vinegar.
So yeah, can understand why his fans were upset.
To answer Op question, I was thinking about this myself recently. I think in Korea the reaction would be mixed. Korean fans would LOVE the "validation" from the west that would come from a Korean idol dating a foreigner, but I think certain elements of the fanbase would absolutely meltdown in a racist fit. I especially see male fans of a a female idol going nuclear.
I also think the international reaction would be interesting to see, and depending on the pairing could be kind of ugly.
-
It wouldn't make any difference. If anything it would just introduce a racist element from both fandoms.

Not all Korean celebrities are Koreans.

Timothee is just as low quality and trashy as Kylie, probably moreso, he just looks like he got plucked from the 1800s so everyone assumes he's some kind of proper gentleman

Dunno.

Well... I watched Dune 2, and I didn't find him that hot. (I found bald Austin Butler hotter)
but different strokes for different blokes.

His face irritates me tbh

Firstly anyone should deserve better than Timothee
