If we go by touring numbers then BTS BigBang and TVXQ are the three biggest kpop groups of all time

  • All I'm going to say about BTS is when they finally tour in 2026 they'll prove why they're the only truly global group in kpop. They very well could just do 60 dates in Japan & the US (their biggest markets) and forget about the rest of the world, they'd get 3m attendance from just that after all, but they won't do that because they have global demand and they can tour anywhere in the world and still sell out stadiums comfortably, they're not restricted to just a few markets

I think their booking of that UK stadium, Twickenham Stadium, where Beyonce just performed recently when they were barely seven years old is so impressive because they must have done so much market research for their base in the UK after Wembley in 2019 to tackle that beast. Don't discount their UK base either. It's grown exponentially since Dynamite!

  • I see what you're saying but I don't see why it matters how spread out the attendees are across the globe. 1.5 million people went to see BigBang right before kpop was about to blow up globably and Blackpink could only get 300k more people in 2023 the biggest kpop year ever?

What i'm trying to say is a group like bp could exclusively tour in sea and still sell out stadiums the same way they do worldwide, but they don't because they actually have the demand to sell out dates globally. For example born pink had 66 dates globally, they could have scheduled all 66 dated in asia and still sold the same, but it wouldn't be as impressive as the actual tour because they would be touring in markets that they are already established in.

Take jpop/rock bands, they sell out dozens of domes all over japan, but no one would say they're bigger than top kpop groups because they're limited to Japan

And at the end of the day all these records depend on how willing a group is to do actual tours, twice for example are having their first real world tour this year with 49 dates and it's no surprise this will be their first tour to have over a million tickets sold, all their previous tours had less than 20 dates. You can't expect a group that have cbs twice a year to tour the same as groups who cb every couple of years (like bb and bp), these groups have time to go on extended worldwide tours. Usually ggs will have around 20 dates while bgs may have up to 40 shows, before they release another album then go on another short tour.

The biggest tours in kpop will be

Love Yourself world tour - 62 dates - 2m tickets

    Born Pink world tour - 66 dates - 1.8 m tickets

    MADE world tour - 66 dates - 1.3m tickets

Ready to Be world tour - 49 dates - 1.4m tickets (this is an estimate, rn they have 600k from 28 shows)

Yeah BTS are huge in the UK, but the UK is much smaller than the US, they had 14 shows planned for the US in 8 different stadiums, they wouldn't be able to do that in the UK, and it also depends on how long they plan to make their tour, if it's a multiple year 100+ dates tour, they could visit countries in Europe twice
