Did SM made a big mistake by letting Min Heejin go?

  • Honestly never heard her name so much until she joined HYBE and has gotten used over and over for media play to hype up the new group to look like the second coming of SM GG. She is one person in a creative team for designs but the articles make you feel like she was part of managing every SM group. I am baffled by the comments that say things like "I hope we get a second SNSD/Fx for MHJ group". I always thought these comments were stupid when they were about an upcoming group from the same company (like aespa pre-debut expected to be like SNSD) but even that sounded more logical than one person who was part of the creative team.

on topic though. Those designs are gold. Don't know how much she contributed in SM overall but she is definitely talented.

  • No she did an amazing job at first but after few years she lost the sparkle she had, and the creative direction she was giving to the groups with who she worked start to look cheap and bad

since she left, i can see a fresh air in SM groups visual and artistic direction and i'm loving it

we wouldn't have the whole aespa concept if she was still in charge

neither SM would have made concept like the last Key comeback etc....

it was a good decision for SM to understand that working with her wasn't a good decision anymore and move on

  • I really hope she found her muse on Bighit because she lost a lot of juices on later years on SM due to her being in charge of many group comebacks. She is iconic, but Bighit’s previous creative directors weren’t bad to be gin with. They directed HYYH and Wings, one of my all time favorite creative albums alongside Min Heejin’s works.

i guess its because not many at bighit would have a clue about ggs so they decided to get someone who knows what works better for ggs

  • I think actually this will work well for both SM and for her

first of all I think it will be great if she will just focus on creating things for one group instead of whole agency

and also in same time she did some amazing, amazing job but yeah like people said her work became repetitive, and also some wasn't the highest quality, probably because she had too much groups to work for

  • Ever heard the term "win-win"? This is one of those situations IMO.

She was done with SM, she left. We can speculate what it was, whether she was overworked etc, but the fact of the matter is that she wasn't not happy and neither were some of the fans and perhaps SM, so she left a situation that wasn't going well. Good for her, good for SM.

Later she found Hybe, who were looking for someone exactly like her. She got her own label and is now CEO. They got someone with a proven track record. Good for her, good for Hybe.

Am I missing something? Because it seems to me like there are only winners in this situation.
