I feel like less idols are going the acting route 3rd gen has very few idol actors the only well known one are Sejoung (she spent most of her time as an actor than a singer) and Cha Eunwoo and the reason is lately an being idol is now as lucrative as being an actor if not more

Who else had hits I think it’s only these three.
Cha en woo ofc we have to mention because he’s Cha en woo but he’s more popular being Cha en woo than an actor lol.
Lol no maybe he doesn’t have a hit in Korea on par with for example 100 days my prince but true beauty and many of his dramas are popular

Tentatively Sejeong because she hasn't really replicated Business Proposals Success yet. None of the main cast have for some reason
Girl Sejeong has two hit dramas back to back the Uncanny counter and Business proposal and school 2017 was a mini hit

Lol no one in third gen even has any notable or iconic works at all. She's already had hits like Uncanny Counter and Business Proposal.
Of course when you have a hit project, it's not easy to follow up. It took Song Hye-kyo 8 years to follow up Descendants of the Sun with The Glory.

What an odd comparison. Song Hye-kyo was already one of the biggest actresses in SK before DotS with multiple huge hits.

Not comparing the two actresses or their careers at all. Of course Song Hye-kyo has been huge for a long time. I'm just giving an example to say hit projects are typically hard to follow up and not every project someone stars in is going to be massive commercial success.

an actor can’t have multiple hit dramas they’re not songs as long as the actor keep on getting booked that’s what matters
