  • Wait a sec.

First of all, I would say congratulations!

Second, when I listen to it, it sounds like Japanese songs and I love it. Honestly I'm on the verge to press the subscribe button.

Third, when I see the drummer, I wonder "hmm... who is she? She is quite good like someone that I know"

Because it's a rarity for me to see girls who are a good drummer. A good one, not just those who can play briefly.

Fourth, when the camera is closing up and that drummer got a line, I'm fcking losing it.

    THIS IS CHODAN'S GROUP??????

LIKE, I THOUGHT HER GROUP WOULD BE SOME KIND OF IDOL, AND TURNS OUT IT WILL BE A BAND????

I'm pressing that subs button 7 times

  • I'm a big fan of Japanese GirlBANDS and have counted several hundred. And some offer the best quality in rock music worldwide and more innovations than the dusty rock from Europe and America.

And that's what I find now with QWER, they are my new highlight from Korea.

  • Full Disclosure:

I came in this thread ready to dislike it.

Then someone mention it was a band

And I was really ready to just not give a hoot.

    Bands... blah....

    But this.......

    Oh I looooove this.

This is like a k-drama theme.

I literally instantly felt that kind of nostalgia feeling I've experienced when a theme such as this would come on an old young love or school sort of k-drama.

When ones life is just opening to all possibility. And this kind of song would usually be in the background.

Oh man. Who are these girls? I love it.

    :yesr:

  • Who is Chodan?

  • Who is Chodan?

she is a korean streamer. Tho idk how small or how big is her popularity, since I've seen some other streamers are also watching her content. She even had played League of Legends once with Heechul.

My first encounter with her is through this series called MBTI House, where Chodan here representing the INFP.

  • Back in the day, 20,000 sales was considered average/decent for most girl groups. An unknown group gets that much with their debut... it's insane how much more groups are selling these days.

QWER have sold over 25 thousand albums and counting.

    But their problem is different.

They are not a group but a band and above all a band lives to perform live.

But QWER are ignored by the media in Korea. No articles and no live appearances on music shows so far.

They are not allowed to show people how good they are.

In Japan, even the smallest groups and smallest bands have many opportunities to perform live. That's why many stay around for a long time.

QWER should definitely make a debut in Japan too. Surely they strive for that too.

  • two pretty popular korean booba streamers (쵸단, 마젠타), one very popular tiktoker (히나) and a jpop idol from nmb48 (시연).

쵸단 is a drum major and she can also play the guitar and sing (she's a sub vocal technically) pretty well. ok with bass too. loves to gym and does some boxing i think.

마젠타 is super new to music only picking up the bass with no prior experience with music when asked to join this project.

히나 used to play the piano but she got rejected from a music university and stopped pursuing music. currently the guitarist.

시연 is a jpop idol from the group NMB48 under AKB48. she's the main vocal.

this group is a passion project by 김계란 (bald guy with a popular gym youtube called physicalgallery) which started with 쵸단 as the first member and the three others were added on after some recruiting.

can you tell how much i love them? lol. they may be targeted towards horny males (me) but they are really serious about their music, if you follow their socials you'll realise this. they are lacking a lot but it's really fun to watch them grow as a band. especially since i also picked up the bass!!!

    tldr; i love them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! booba + music = :love::love::love::love:

  • they did perform live (somewhat) once! i suspect the reason they are not performing live much is due to their lack of skill. only their drummer and main vocal is good enough to perform live.

appearance on music shows might be too hasty for now, they are a pretty small name (their band's not individually).

25k is actually pretty good, i hope they continue with the project even if it's in a smaller form! they do seem pretty serious with music but success is definitely not going to come easy for them

  • wait, so that bald man was the head of this project?

yea, baldie had some pretty popular videos with 쵸단. they probably interacted and baldie realised her skill and passion, so he wanted to make a group like this. if you watch their videos you can tell how hard he's working on this and how generous he is to the girls. this whole thing seriously is just a big passion project. i doubt they're even making even overall.
