I will never get over the fact that ‘Unforgiven’ was the title instead of EPTBW

you’re probably playing up your geriatric persona at this point lol but harping on and on about melon uls gets tiring man especially when it’s such an egregious case like this considering the sheer number of musicians (both korean and foreign) providing their own takes on bluebeard, some of them even making it onto the numerous bluebeard official remixes (unforgiven received zilch btw), then the number of idols doing the bluebeard dance challenge, and then some even spontaneously bursting into the choreo on variety shows, and I haven’t even talked about the fan response on a global scale yet, it paints a very obvious picture which song is the bigger hit with more impact and appeal between unforgiven and bluebeard. Source music themselves heavily leaned onto bluebeard’s going viral and promoted the shit out of it lol while unforgiven just seems like the forgotten stepchild atp , which further helped with bluebeard’s popularity. It’s a closed case man and melon uls mean absolutely nothing

this made it very clear to me. the label has more or less acknowledged that they picked the wrong TT and are making the most of what they can. once again, song > concept. and it's not like they couldn't have written the Unforgiven concept into the lyrics/art direction on Eve either.
Remember that many people noted that Unforgiven reminded them of Antifragile when it first dropped. I think Source just tried to replicate success, who can blame them tho

yeah i’m just glad the company didn’t stay an ancient dinosaur who can’t keep up with the times and ever evolving trends and refused to acknowledge unforgiven was a dud compared to bluebeard just bc of some executive’s ego or sth like that lol. the ability to adapt to unforeseen emerging circumstances is crucial, especially in business, and in this case it’s obvious bluebeard should be prioritised in promotions if they want to maximise its potential. Good for them that they did just that

I liked both, but agree evebluewhatever is wayyyy catchier. Seriously, so annoying. I have a love-hate relationship.

Welcome back my friend. I agree with you. Even source admitted it by promoting EPBW more than Unforgiven.

song > concept, every time
In kpop unfortunately NO
Songs are popular not only because of the melody but also the concept associated with the song, and its choreo. There are many instances of songs being a hit due to the concept, MV and/or choreo
EPTBW is only good as tik tok challenge. The song lacks a climax part for impact comeback. I bet if the song is the comeback title track, y'all will drag it to the pit of hell for being another boring track (like how fearless was dragged for being the less interesting debut)

sad to see
Sad to see but let's accept the fact this is kpop. It is song + visuals.

Unforgiven better song. I can't change my choice according to the chart. Eve & Psyche is my favorite bside. But Boom Boom part is too repetitive. While they should have repeated the I'm mess part more, the constant repetition of the Boom Boom part oversimplifies the song. Unforgiven has a full song structure at least.
