In 2023, Melon started to favor new releases, so they created a 4-week 'New Releases Chart' that was added to the front page of the App and It boost more streams and listeners.
The ranking of said chart is based on the Top 100 positions of songs released in the past 4 weeks.
When a song leaves this Chart/Playlist, we notice a significant decrease in ULs. Before NMIXX, It happened to 'Teddy Bear', 'Fighting', 'Sugar Rush Ride' etc.
That's why It was like #4 on Melon for some time and had a mid performance on other plataforms due to their exposure they gained through their promotions/acclaimed encore.
That still doesn’t make sense because it only happened with them. nayeon and Itzy were in the top 5 in all k-charts last year. And you’re telling me NMIXX can’t even enter top 10 on YouTube despite going viral for their vocals and encores.
Honestly I don’t care about ads JYPE uses for all their groups even their ratio between likes and views is less significant.
However LMLY weird charting, them suddenly flopping on Spotify while they were doing quite well despite polarizing reactions, these albums sales don’t make sense at all especially if they don’t have a big Chinese or japan fanbase and you can tell with their weak touring power.

should have used that money to invest more on their songs and concept than paying youtube for useless bragging rights ... sigh...

I don't think It's hard to explain. Sneakers and POP! were legit hits that gained traction due to virality and people went to check it out on Melon on their own because they heard somewhere else. Just like the users from other plataforms.
'LMLT' gained traction on Melon, especifically, due to a good promotion on Melon's main page and the interest wasn't extended to the users of others plataforms.
