Soyeon is Korean so she produces what sounds good to Koreans. Simple as that

She has absolutely no reason to redeem herself to these random English PhDs. Not anymore than Lil Wayne or similar rapper who goes creative

Genius doesn't just mean technical perfection. She makes her own song that become mega hits, several times. That puts her ahead of 99.999% of female idols in that department

Queencard's lyrics makes me gain confidence in my own poem writing skills.

I don't know what is this obsession with soyeon's lyrics, there is absolutely never the same criticism or the same standard when it comes to some groups.

Soyeon is a good lyricist, just look at Hann/Hann(Alone in the winter)/Hwaa trilogy that is made like an old Korean poem. There is some really good translation from Korean to English if you are truly interested in discussion and not just a blind hater:

As for Queencard, I think none takes the lyrics seriously. Moreover, it's not meant to be taken seriously. Queencard is a catchy, cheesy, ridiculously selfish and self-bragging song. Like the songs that were popular in 2000s. Btw, cringe and bad English also was a big part of 2nd gen kpop culture.

That has always been kpop.

Most hits over the past decades had head scratching lyrics, is weird when you first get into kpop, but you get used to it.

soyeon solo single was good but queencard is pretty rough. would just call her capable instead of genuis since most of her idol peers can't produce songs
