First EXO are not leaving in the middle of their contract TVXQ left five years into their contract and Kris Luhan Tao just a couple of years into theirs.
CBX are in the process of completing their full 10 years(plus military). There’s no way for SM to claim “that’s not what that means” or any ambiguity.
I think CBX have a chance because they are contesting the contract that hasn’t yet began. Their current 10 year contract is only going to end later this year/early next year.

Do u think their lawyer statements have good chance
I think there are two out comes
1. They win and leave (the lawyer did good)
2. They settle and leave + play pay out their 5 year contract (the lawyer did bad)
Imo it doesn’t quite matter at this point whether they win or not I don’t expect them to stay at SM. That much we should be prepared for.
The real question is regardless of whether they win or settle if SM will negotiate a new contract (non exclusive) that will allow them to participate in EXO activities. That second contract negotiation is what I’m worried about and whether it’ll happen at all.

If this continues then sm will just continue to be like this and continue to have power and it really sucks
And they are so petty toward anyone that leaves so it’s not gonna end well
I’m very concerned about that too, I don’t think that’s gonna happen unless something is negotiated idk

1. Ex sm idols have definitely won lawsuits against SM. They may have won but SM was still able to backlist them from TV due to their influence, especially back then.
2. Aside from everything others said in this thread, another difference is that exo members are now big seniors and compared to most cases bcl then they got each other back. So far none of exo members or sm idols have said anything shady agains CBX.
Compare to most cases, minus shinhwa, exo members are supporting each other (so far).
3. Times have changed.

all companies (kpop?) are like this though?
at the end of the day an artist is merely an employee in the grand scheme of things and most companies in the world treat their employees like shit trying to milk as much out of them as they can...

Yeah unfortunately that’s true they just really see them like products

Yeah unfortunately that’s true they just really see them like products
especially more so in kpop where I've always said the product is the idols themselves with the parasocial relationships and such

yeap and that's the inherent downside I guess of kpop idol life that sure when most other artists around the world are seeing album declines - most of the mid-top artists (sorry nugus) within kpop are seeing massive increases in sales and other revenues. Also literally every non-nugu group is like announcing world tours everyday
but with that you have the downside of some fans are going to be creepy/dodgy/outright criminals
