A little big ago everybody was going retro. Now some groups are cycling back to the 90's. Some to Gen 2 music. LSFM is out here doing their own thing with reggaeton and whatever. All of it is good though. It's nice to have variety in music available.

Contemporary isn’t quite the right word to use in this context but op did explain that they mean there’s usually a time lag between western music trends and kpop music trends but lesserafim is jumping on trends that are popular in the west right now, not trends from 3+ years ago. Wut? Why are we assuming that Western music trends are "cutting edge"? Cutting edge is usually reserved for something positive, something you want to aspire to be. The Hot 100 is NOT where anyone needs to be musically it's rancid over here.

If Hot 100 is cutting edge, i dont wanna get stabbed with it. Y'all can keep it. I'd rather have Kpop music that actually tries to retain an ounce of actual musicality.
