If the streams are combined he would still be number #2 but Spotify separates the two versions so it falls down. Thoughts? Is Spotify wrong for this?
Spotify separates Jimin songs into 2 versions, song falls 13 spots down the chart. Is Spotify right or wrong?

Spotify is so funny. They have had no problems before Jimin and went by whatever their policies dictate (and made me aware of non-BTS kpop acts that have also been affected by their decisions to merge different languages *Blackpink, Itzy, Treasure*). But the moment this same policy benefits BTS in ANY SHAPE OR FORM, Spotify goes beyond vindictive LMAO. And people really think BigHit and Spotify have any special deals or love going on between the two.
Think a user pointed out two days ago that the minute Jimin became #1 on the third day with the ENG and KOR versions merged, and overtook Miley, they sobered up real quick and couldn't have that. BTS, their impact truly is amazing.

Shakira's english and spanish versions are still merged? it's been a while then
so, spotify is very arbitrary about this lol

yep US too. Ystrday was 758k. today is 889k

Wow the audacity. Both songs have basically the same instrumentals, just different lyrics. It would make more sense to delete songwriters credits but i guess that's not enough of an excuse to separate them.

I'm not her fan so I'm taking what I've seen on Spotify so far but again this issue only ever arise because of BTS. It's like these platforms can't and WON'T let BTS play the same field as all their peers do because it's devasting to the labels that pay them to keep their artists #1.
I will just need Spotify to unmerge Seoul Town Road. That has been my biggest gripe that I had in 2019 and when I thought I finally was able to let go of this anger, kpop stans just discovered how Spotify works on March 24, 2023. Seriously, it's not even in their discography.
Since this only affects BTS can they remove the remix of RM/BTS streams from OTR??

Does it really matter if they are combined or not? I dont see the fuss really.
it's actually a real issue. the producer won't get paid for that song since his credits is deleted.
-
There was an anti just yesterday that tried saying that SMF2 had some deal as if Pdogg would give up his royalties payout for stable streams. The fandom has quietly spoken the very next business day since SMF2 was released and its still dropping in streams as we speak.

I wonder if they'll be able to fix that. I guess their system is combined the streamed because the korean and english both have the same credit and length so they removed him even if he worked on both versions.

They removed him so that the their system will count the version separately.

bighit/ghstloop needs to raise issue with this tbh, don't let it slide. this is blatant sabotage just right after the song got #1

Spotify is correct

Does spotify directly pay to producer or to singers' label to be distributed by themselves?
