Any company in Korea should open International studies class for these idols and soon-to-be idols

  • But it's more about to teach them what are the forbidden slurs words, symbols or anything that offensive outside of Korea or their respective country. Imagine if it's mandatory to take this class before debut, we might have more idols who more understanding and sensitive to what happen outside of their bubble.

I think we face the same scandals every year just with different idols. Kpop are more global now, company should invest on this.

  • Interesting idea, but the question is, who will curate the information and what will and won't be included?

I'd expect the more well-known things to be included of course, but there are a lot offensive things out there that sometimes you may now know offended a group of people until it arises.

I'm thinking specifically of Italians being very upset at ITZY over the use of the word Mafia in their song MITM.

  • Nazi symbol

You're going to run into a wall if you tell Koreans that this symbol ofends other cultures since they use this in their culture and many other Asian countries do the same. I remember I watched a vlog of a youtuber I follow (she is American but lives in Korea) where she visited a cafe in Jeju and the outside had this symbol carved into the stonewall on 3 sides and she was totally chill about it but 2-3 people were confused and commented on that and everyone else was like "yeah well this is not a harmfull symbol in Asian culture so..."

Swastika of Buddhism and Hinduism looks different from Nazi one.

People shouldn't push the notion that they are similar.
