HYBE chairman Bang Si Hyuk is saying that Kpop is slowing down

Cheerleading is great, but sometimes you have to be realistic to move forward
-
It needs a PSY breakthrough from a Hybe, SM, YG or JYP group. All these companies have the connections in place and tour globally now, so can capitalize on a breakout song.
So if any group from these companies can come up with a breakout song that is super catchy and has fun dance moves, that group will take things to the next level worldwide.

it's very obvious that kpop's growth is slowing down, it has nothing to do with who says it
it has always been & was always gonna be a niche, but in the period of 2018-2019 there seemed to be some signs that maybe kpop would get SOME mainstream recognition (no matter how small), but years later it's clear that kpop - except for BTS and bp to a lesser extend - was never gonna be "known" by locals.

lol people was hating on Bang PD for nothing..💀

Kpop is still growing, just the rate of growth has slowed down.
this, the curve is still trending positive but the slope is changing, and it's not a surprise, given how steep that slope was in 2019-2021

no latin hasn't always been popular though like not to this extent they are today. it's mostly in the last few years but now it has reached to a point that hasn't been done before, it's not only an artist but a few that are doing well and are starting to blow up. Look at Karol G now #1 album in the US with Spanish language record
