I'm sorry but virtual idols impressed me more visually than bio idols this year

Exactly lol. They actually have lots of views and support on youtube too. Its scary how non-human media keeps taking over everywhere

Lol Teshubs. Your takes are always interesting.
Can't say I feel the same about virtual idols.
I find them weird.
And fundamentally pointless.
Why would i like a virtual human? There's nothing "there" to like.
It doesn't make any sense to me.
Not any more virtual than the parasocial relationships fans try to cope with

Are they actual people who had their likeness turned into an avatar or purely fictional? Regardless this is what I basically what I imagined Aespa to be when they first announced with their ae personas but none of it panned out.
I can understand why people would be interested, just look at popularity of vtubers or video game characters in general, but imo the type of group mave is a bit off. The avatars are right there in uncanny valley and it's jarring. It would've been better if the designs were more stylised than attempted photorealism.

Bgs flopping even in the AI world 😭

Yoimiya became a k-pop idol?

Honey it’s miles better than eating up some fake AI virtual shit. That’s on another level of weird
You don't have to idolize virtual idols, just see them as entertainment and art, then move on
While we got entire millions of young people wasting their meager resources on people who are already 1000x more richer and successful than all of them combined
