I'm guessing he's saying that New Jeans is going to make it where KPOP is going to transition from stylistic (pretty shots) MVs to MVs that have more storylines?

Yeah, that's probably true, but those videos don't have a lot of re-watchability.
Unless something really cool or interesting happens then most people would watch a video like that once and then watch the performance videos. Like, I watched the OMG performance video more than either of the MVs, and I know I watched Crown more than I watched TXT's Runaway.
I think having a storyline MV works for keeping the fandom invested, but I don't think non-fans will really care, which may overall effect view count. If ADOR doesn't really care about view count for MVs like some companies seem to, then it doesn't really matter.
