Why aren’t boy groups also doing y2k/high teen concept like Love Dive/Hype Boy?

Nothing says boys and girls must follow the same trends and often don't. I must admit, there is a lot of comedic value in imagining stray kids singing Hype Boy.

y2k has influenced bgs more in fashion than concept. I feel like Candy by NCT dream is a y2k concept, it hits all the marks (no pun). and it's my 2nd favorite comeback from them so i hope more bgs follow suit

And Treasure actually came out with the BG SOTY this year doing a similar concept (the sound is more of an 80s retro synth vibe, but the aesthetics are pure high teen/y2k).

This really got me nostalgic over the awesome synth music of my childhood.

Donno about other bgs but skz's last cb case 143 had y2k influences fashion wise. Skz's bside rap song Muddy water had 90s or early 00s old school influence as well.

Love Dive isn't really Y2K. It's much more mid 2000s

Love Dive isn't Y2K, i don't see high teen either, maybe a bit the school outfits but thats all

and bgs are doing Y2K, ex: NCT Dream's Candy and Treasure's Hello but bgs and ggs don't follow same trends

First of all these songs success have nothing to do with their concept

Second are there even that many girl groups doing this, a lot of them have school uniform outfits but that is more of a common trend than the whole concept

Third I think the bg equivalent of high teen is a music video where they wear uniforms or "school athlete clothes" and are in a school.

Don't ask me about what Y2K exactly is but I am sure there are a lot of groups who have influences of it but don't center the whole song around that.

For example. Aespa's concept pictures for Savage were called y2k by the person hosting the showcase but its not really in the MV
