it’s not about being anonymous as a real person. It’s about not getting sana dragged in your case the moment you say sth remotely unagreeable with some other peeps from other fandoms even if you’re being perfectly neutral about it bc people’s only defense on the internet is attacking things other people love lol and they’re incapable of holding actual meaningful discussion without dragging other idols into it when they fail to come up with an actual rebuttal. It’s stupid but it’s a real phenom that exists. That’s why people use anon

This, and tbh, if I don't want my account attached to it because, for example, I'm afraid of upsetting you and making you think differently of me, then maybe it's not an opinion that needs to be shared?

That hassle would’ve been entirely amiss with anon and an actual discussion would’ve been held bc it’s not visible who the other person is and there’s nothing to hold them against to go on an off topic personal attack tangent 
Obviously there’s also a lot of trolling that naturally comes with the anon territory, but everything has 2 sides. It’s silly to pretend it’s impossible to understand why people use anon for non-trolling purposes lol -

Straight up vicious and malicious attacks towards people they never met.

idk why you’re giving me a lecture on evil deeds committed on anon lol i’m not advocating for or against anon i’m just explaining why some people use it even when they don’t want to troll or do worse things like pls spare me the moral lectures i have a functioning brain i can tell good from bad 😭 like it’s great for you that you don’t condone disgusting behaviour but your complete dismissal that some people might just not want the hassle of all the personal attacks they’d get when trying to get a discussion going even when the discussion is perfectly innocuous from a neutral standpoint, hence turning to anon, is not the flex you think it is 😭

exactly. it’s got to the point where some people are uncomfortable with saying harmless things like they don’t like a song bc they don’t want their faves to get attacked lol it’s ridiculous honestly. I’m on a forum bc idgas about keeping a rep and just want to see what other kpop stans think, and now people don’t event want to do that anymore 😭
