What years do the generations begin and end in kpop?

Honestly I think it makes more sense for 4th gen to start in 2020. If you consider the fact that a shift in the market is what is generally accepted as the start of a gen... 1st gen starting the idol forumla. 2nd gen being the impact of the hallyu wave. 3rd gen being the revival of the physical market. I think 2020 with the pandemic causing the rapid global reach of kpop makes more sense than the reasons that have been given for it starting in 2018/2019.

Ggs always aged up when it comes to kpop gens and it’s so weird. Like everyone sees Exo as 3rd gen but not Aoa who literally debut MONTHS after them?… not to mention the weridos who acting like Nct dream is 4th gen when they debut the same month as bp
some people don't think skz are 4th gen either both g idle and skz get those kind of questions
