RE : Why are Japan and South Korea the oposite?

Didn't read but duck the Japanese for getting so much TWICE this week

I don't see how they're the opposite - if anything Japan's move to streaming is making them more in line with SK.

Kpop bgs outside of BTS don't chart well there but can sell a lot and tour, like kpop bgs do in SK. The fact that they're purchasing less gg albums whilst bg sales are going up in the era that they're moving to streaming is literal evidence of that.

The new Johnny's groups are selling well, it's true. But most girl groups tended to increase their sales through like handshake events etc. The pandemic has prevented this quite a lot.
