I know it's not a reliable source and everyone can edit, but still how it is calculated? Only kpop gg's that are on the list are 2ne1 and girls generation. but 2ne1 has 66 million sales??? what?? how? I have nothing against if they have but I don't understand, shouldn't be other kpop groups here?? I mean Bts or Twice ??? is it only albums or altogether? or how

but snsd also doesn't have 34 million so it's also claimed I guess ? yeah I know twice and bts sales, I just thought the number was high because they included song sales too, but if it's claimed I understand now

For 2NE1 that 66 million claim includes both downloads and album sales (99% is digital sales, they were/are the top digital selling girl group). For SNSD, that claim also includes downloads and album sales, but its a decade old and they sold a lot more since then. As for BP and Twice, Gaon stopped publishing digital sales since 2018 so nobody knows how many downloads they have in total.

They do list references, but they may not be the most reliable, the authors of the articles could just be making up the numbers (or one made them up and the other just quoted them)

The thread is best selling records, which is a term often used in the recording industry. Just means the most sales (1 download of a song and 1 album are both considered 1 sale). It's strange, but an industry standard (at least until recently) when talking about career success for whatever reason.
2NE1 had insane downloads, so technically they are the highest selling Korean girl group when it comes to records.
