And it's almost always the NCT members too 😂😭💀

  • they suit the exact same VERY specific south korean standards, have the exact same hair and makeup and very similar camera personalities

i dont see how it wouldnt be confusing to someone who isnt used to kpop

you know if you are obsessed with appearance and your beauty standards are way too exclusive and specific, all your celebrities will end up looking the same, does not just apply to asians

She would definitely not have tagged any of the random blonde white women with the wrong name though. That's when it becomes an issue. It happens with black celebrities as well... no one expects anyone to know who every single celebrity is by sight, but if it's a white celebrity they always seem to be identified correctly no matter how famous or non-famous they are, but that same effort is rarely extended to BIPOC celebrities.

I know how it feels. Before BTS introduced me to Kpop and while learning their names-- I had a hard time distinguishing their faces. It's the same experience with other Asian people men/women not just in Kpop. Anyways, I just made this post cause I find it funny.

    you sure?

why dont you ask asian people, especially older ones, who are not very familiar with white media, if they think many blonde women with similar features look identical or not to them?

its a question of familiarity, with no ill intention behind it

that said, i dont know the purpose behind the tweet though, im just pointing out the logic behind it ( if there is any )

  • It’s not just Asian men. It is people assuming any handsome Asian man walking around with phones or cameras recording them is automatically assumed to be BTS

I want to say it’s racism but it’s more about non kpop fans or just the general public being unaware of the kpop industry and only hearing of BTS. So their minds automatically tie the two together. Like I doubt some of these people are even aware of how the BTS members look like irl. So that side of their ignorance also shows.
