what got IVE 1 on melon was the excessive promotions, one thing startship does well is to promote their artists and send them to the variety shows they are capitalizing in their popularity by having multiple comebacks this year.
YG on the other hand is milking fans dry and not even bother to promote blackpink the only reason they are having a comeback is to have new music for their world tour

No one in their right minds can actually admit that pink venom is a good song. Its legit awful. Its the BP hype and their name (along with teddy) thats purely carrying it. YG are genius in that aspect all the way from big bang to 2ne1 to bp. They can release pure noise and trash and it will carry them far casue of the image and hype they built for those groups.

It's because people liked afterlike way more than pink venom. No amount of promotions would have made blackpink overtake ive. Ive is out of reach.

Seolhyun was an it girl, how many songs did AOA chart at #1.
heck even SNSD Yoona - after 2012, did all SNSD songs chart at #1.
Suzy, recently released Satellite - no #1 for her either.
