Will any Kpop company seriously push Japanese groups in the West?

  • I don't know why they aren't doing it tbh, but probably nationalism? Idk, I guess so, cause otherwise why not? I just think they don't want Jpop catching up to Kpop.

Do you think anything will change with the Hybe group? Cause they are kinda international, they have Korean and Taiwanese members, and also their Japanese trainess like K speak Korean and etc.

  • Depends on it

If we go by the "idea" of the Japanese artist Hiroomi Tosaka than there is a slight chance that this might happens, because he is curently holding a survival show in Japan for several months now and said the group he is creating will be co-signed to Hybe and should help his plan of getting JPop more known outside the country.

I don't even know where it will take the group when they debut since he literally only stated he was just doing it since he felt jealous of KPop ...

  • Should a Jpop company do that?

The people that manage XG are probably going to try.

  • Literally what exactly would even be the point of that? Genuinely asking. The only time a Korean company even uses Japanese or other foreign idols is for localization. But even then, it's not completely necessary because even without it, many Kpop groups have proven to perform exceedingly well globally without foreign members. Never mind the fact that Kpop itself was pushed by the Korean government specifically for political purposes to gain soft power. Even now BTS is still caught up in that particular web. So again, why on earth would Korea instead push Japan, a country that they aren't even completely on good terms with because of WW2, on the West when they have their own people for that?

If a Jpop group is to be pushed on the West, then it is Japan's responsibility to do so.

  • Define Jpop group.

Kpop group with Japanese members like Twice? Then yes, JYP was trying.

But a fully Japanese group with Kpop makeover? Why would any Korean companies do that when the purpose of such group is to grow in Japan and make them Yen?

Nationalism aside, there is no purpose for a Korean company to push a Japanese group in the US. A Korean group with Japanese members who happen to caught the wave and do well in the West? Definitely! Money is money.
