IVE vs. YGNGG? Thoughts?

    Ive was unexpected for me, ngl. Their spotify global results are amazing. Sakura stans were swearing she's super popular in China compared to Wonyoung, but the girl snatched the crown. After like is debatable to many, but its results are better than LD for now. I expected big 3 companies to release the next gen leader only for 2/3 of them to get mid results? Not another non big 3 group outdoing them.


    Nmixx is out of the question because jyp is incompetent and they can't handle success in the long run.

    SM acts NEVER had international popularity the way BP, Bts, and Jyp(Rain, WG billboard top 10, Straykids and bubbling under, Twice and their 100k concert tickets&20k stadium in the USA in May) had, which is why I don't think Aespa will be the Blackpink of their generation SM wants them to be. Even their national hit never made any noise outside Korea. Heavy promotions in the states didn't show any growth and they were out of global the next day & decline in Melon with top 20 while Ive debuted top 50&top 10 Melon. That's not top group behavior

    Newjeans? I don't see the hype internationally. Maybe they will surprise us and be the dark horse, so who knows.


    Ygngg has bp sister tag that alone will get them huuuuge attention overseas and in SK. Korea loves yg music despite their scandals and yg won't let them loose international audience, so I feel like their music will resonate with everybody. They will most likely also promote them individually, so another win for the group.

    We don't know when (or if) they'll debut, we don't even know the members and what kind of music they'll release so it's difficult to make predictions...It's possible that YG new group will gain a lot attention but it doesn't mean they'll automatically have huge success especially after seeing how YG boy groups are doing. We'll see

    If ygngg manage to snatch the crown from Ive, then it will be the first time that a kpop company will have the top #1 girl group for 2 consecutive gens.

    I am rooting for Ive though as their privilege is minor compared to big4 groups and it's refreshing to see groups like that winning. And obviously they have likeable and charismatic members and great music with unique vibe thats enough for them to deserve that #1 spot.

    We have to see if YG can stay relevant without BP, I think ygngg will receive huge attention but the comparisons to BP will be unevitable and thats a double edged sword. I predict their debut to be bigger than NJ because everyone will check to see if theyre as good as Blackpink.

    ive have too many filler members and no harmony to be the next bp and newjeans just debuted so idk why they are even in the talks

    atm it's only aespa that could fill in those shoes

    they even got the 4 members appeal and english skills

    IVE beat BP so they won’t have a problem beating YGNGG.
