The reason Bts lost the hype and BP didn't

  • They were too much dependent on the fandom, Hybe made no move to give them gp exposure, all of their content was on hybe's apps. Meanwhile I know some non kpop fans who fell in love with blackpink due to their Netflix documentary. And their company focused too much on building their own image more than actual group.

And armys are annoying asf always gatekeeping bts. That's why they don't have established solos fandoms. And I rarely see any multi stanning bts.

  • BTS cameback way too often we know what that did to the local group :-)

  • Can it be because Bts always do stuff together? From cfs to events. Other groups have individual stuff but Bts barely do anything of that... IDK it's just a guess

  • Blinks are too brave diy a group that will spend the new two years begging for a comeback or solos and throw hate to treasure or anything else who gets one.

  • That's true bts does comeback alot I'm glad they finally getting a rest both bts and blackpink have good streamers fans who does watch their videos alot alot but bts has more listeners.

  • Why are people acting like the main reason for BTS's underperformance wasn't the anthology. There was so much hype until the Anthology was announced. Bts didn't even try to have a hit with YTC, they knew exactly that ARMYS would like Run BTS better(RM said that) but they still chose YTC. I think they felt like YTC was the best way to announce a hiatus

  • Dumbasses in anons. OP sounds like a manti or solo.

The only sensible reply on the thread from the user who spoke about the anthology and of YTC as song choice.

If BTS wanted they could have released another Mic Drop 2.0 and created a rage but they did not cause they did not want to. BTS decided to not chase success this comeback. They only wanted closure.

  • BTS currently have 5 songs charting on Spotify global, 7 songs on various kcharts, two songs on bbhot100 ,is on the top ten most streamed daily artists on Spotify for months now, sold out 3.2m albums with just two versions and one of them being nearly 60+ dollars and this is just the tip of the iceberg. Could sell out stadiums around the world in minutes if they wanted too as well.

I seriously don't understand why ppl push this narrative that BTS lost their hype when they are on par with big Western artists? None of the kpop groups even the one you mentioned could hold a candle to the achievements that i listed above, so no BTS is not losing any hype.

  • BTS are beginning to drop off because their fans were used to constant content. Now that's falling off the more casual part of the fanbase will find other groups who to fill that space. I noticed a lot of the people posting Seventeen concert clips have little 7's in their names.

It's also tough for the underdog fans to hang on in there now their multi millionaire boys are immersed in the luxe life instead of getting tired with touring and schedules. They're probably finally accepting Ateez in their lives.

  • Not sure why any BTS fans would entertain the clown in this thread. They are so desperate, the need to be validated through Bp is so high that they'll say anything, believe anything. So it's pointless to debate. BTS have conquered every landscape. Now let us see how their solos and more personal projects do, I fear that blinks will be crying again soon

  • As an Army, I'm really pissed tired of the constant barrage of lies, bashing by Blinks and they date top complain in mains?

Blinks really are toxic. Honestly tired sick of them

  • the only way they can maintain their hype is through a successful solo debut

They do it because people's delusions seem to demand attention. Think about it. Kpop is built on that. If someone said to you, hey! the world is flat, would you provide them with reasons why it isn't? or would you just laugh and keep walking? If BTS fans kept walking these threads would die.

  • the only way they can maintain their hype is through a successful solo debut

This is a smart take. A lot of antis and trolls are going to be gunning for their solos. If they flop, everyone is going to be questioning their general public appeal and lack of individual name brand recognition. The solos are a lot more dependent on GP and casuals to boost the efforts of solo stans, as it seems a good chunk of group fanbases sit them out (Nayeon, Lisa, Rose, Miyeon getting about half of their groups' sales).

We saw BTS hit huge with their English singles and collabs with Western stars like Charlie and Blanco-Snoop. How will their pure solos do, either English or Korean?

  • But Blackpink's current charting in Korea is underwhelming too, at least for their standards.

People have been saying that armys are dropping BTS for bgs like NCT, Stray Kids, Ateez, SVT, etc for years yet none of these groups ever had a powerful surge of popularity.

Even to this day, there's still a big gap between BTS and other bgs unlike girl groups where the competition is really tough.
