Don't they make the bulk of their profits from domestic sales, Japan and China only? In America, I guess only a few groups managed to generate a huge income? Correct me if I'm wrong about that. Kpop being removed from Spotify may be related to what Lee Soo Man said recently. That Kpop should focus on China to create a Asia Hollywood. It's there their priority is. So for us outside of East Asia and America, we're irrelevant.

It depends on their sales, however east Asia and South-Korea itself are more important seeing as they have a realistic chance of becoming a local brand ambassador, get paid for appearances, etc. So when it comes to scandals and image, keeping a good image in South Korea (and East-Asia) will be prioritized over whatever western fans think.

They didn't care even more back then during the times of 2nd generation. The reason why no one ever responds to CA cases? Because it's true they don't care. I-fans are all bark no bite. K-fandoms, when they threaten to boycott, they actually do. Companies only listen if you hurt their pocket and the majority of money they make from Korea, Japan and China. A lot of idol groups even give special content to Japanese and Chinese fans.
But if this is related to the Spotify issue then this is just biting them in the back. After all Kpop companies do need exposure especially to foreign market since kpop is supposed to be an export. Unlike Japan, which was closed off to the whole world but could sustain itself because of how big the market is, Korean music market is small. The Spotify issue will hurt them. Exposure is important.
